Farm to Table Supper at Thompson Farm
August 17, 2025
4:30 - 8:30 PM
To celebrate the best local food, Thompson Farm is hosting a
Farm to Table Supper on August 17.
The meal features our farm-raised Speckle Park prime rib, prepared by Adam Wilson, chef at Cherry Lane B&B at Edberg AB, alongside seasonal vegetables and salads. Melissa Wilson from Cherry Lane B&B will delight us with dessert, a vanilla and honey cake, with honey harvested from our farm by a local honey producer, and wild-picked saskatoons from a pollinator strip on the farm! Locally brewed beverages will be on offer: beer from Detention Brewing of Rosalind, our amazing local brewery just down the road, and mead from Old Station Meadery at New Sarepta will be available. Non-alcohol offerings will also be available including Saskatoon Soda from Troubled Monk in Red Deer and sodas from the Grizzly Paw in Canmore. Fun fact: Casey and Erin got to know and love the Grizzly Paw when we lived in Canmore before moving home to the farm in 2009!
The event begins with a Welcome at 4:30 pm with self-guided garden tours and a meet and greet opportunity with two of our favourite "Cowbassadors." Wagon tours are scheduled for 4:40 and 5:15 (limited seating), for a trip through our wheat and barley fields to visit our Speckle Park cattle on pasture for a photo opportunity and demonstration of our latest conservation efforts.
Cocktails begin at 5:30 and we are pleased to present a performance by two talented local artists: Myra Marshall and Tom Lichak for the first of two sets of the evening. Supper will begin at approximately 6:15, with an elegant long-table setting. Following the meal, we will have the opportunity to enjoy music from Myra and Tom again.
Friends & Family tickets are $90 incl. gst and can be purchased directly from us. Regular price is $130 for the evening (before group discounts). These tickets can be purchased directly from us via cash or etransfer. We are covering the cost of the venue and decorations for our friends and family in order to welcome them to our event.
We appreciate your support of our business and hope you will join us for this elegant event!
Making connections
Sharing this experience is an essential way to connect people to their food and the resilience of the landscape that produces it.
We hope to engage in meaningful conversations about local food, why we believe in our Speckle Park cattle, and the importance of integrating conservation and agriculture.
