Open Farm Days

Open House at Thompson Farm August 16, 2025

In 2024 we had the opportunity to work with a group of University of Alberta students from the Augustana Campus. They helped us create this video about who we are as a farm and some of the values that are important to us.

The most important aspect of our operation is family.  With that in mind, we are always looking for ways of serving our family, with quality beef as well as with goals for the long-term sustainability of our operation as well as the health of the land that supports us

Our Vision

To create quality, locally raised beef, while engaging in responsible land management practices and maintaining the well-being of our animals.

Our Farm

Our steady model for many years has been a cow-calf and crop operation. Developing our freezer beef initiative led us to examine who we are, what our values are, and what we hope to build for the future.

Discover the delights of Speckle Park beef with our selection of hormone-free, farm-raised beef. From the fields of Central Alberta straight to your table, we take pride in offering premium quality, locally raised meat, delivered right to your door.

Our Products

We keep our pricing up to date and ordering is easy, with photos and explanations next to each product. We are happy to offer a selection that varies from individual cuts, to beef boxes, to larger orders of halves and quarters.

Our Pricing

With the rising cost of beef in store, without seeing that value ourselves, along with realizing how fortunate we are to have access to high quality beef, we began dreaming in earnest of sharing our high quality beef in a new way.

Our Stories

Rooted in rich farming traditions, Thompson Farms is excited to share our stories with you. From our family's journey in agriculture to the innovative practices we employ for sustainable farming, our tales are infused with our love for the land and the community in Alberta

We love to talk about what we are passionate about.

There are several ways you can reach us. Contact us directly, meet up with us at a Farmer’s Market, and ask questions about how and where your food is grown.
